About ABA Pathways

We are a team of behaviour analysts, including BCBAs and RBTs, with a combined 54 years’ experience working in special educational needs, specialising in teaching children and young adults with diagnoses of autism, related communication impairments and challenging behaviours.

We are passionate about using the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis, with an emphasis on Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred strategies, to create meaningful impacts in the lives of all those that we work with.

The Role

Job purpose

As a Respite Carer with ABA Pathways, you will provide safe, enjoyable and person-centred support to children and young people with SEND during specialist-setting and community respite sessions. The role focuses on enabling each young person to access meaningful activities, develop independence and enjoy positive experiences while following their individual support, communication, behaviour and risk-management plans.

Duties

  • To build and maintain trusting relationships with each child or young person.
  • To promote choice and dignity in all aspects of support.
  • To support personal care where required.
  • To record relevant session and behaviour information accurately.
  • To communicate effectively with families and the ABA Pathways team.
  • To safeguard every child or young person in your care.

Person specification

Essential:
Experience working with Children with SEN
Reliable and committed
Keen to develop skills

Desirable:
Experience working with the field of ABA

A DBS Check will be required for this role.
